Australia-Wide Online Dermatology Care

Our service is available across Australia, including Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, and regional and remote areas.

Online dermatology can improve access to specialist care, particularly where in-person services may involve longer wait times or travel.

How Online Dermatology Works

  • Upload images of your skin concern
  • Complete a medical questionnaire
  • Consult with a dermatologist via video or phone (if required)
  • Receive a clinical assessment and management plan
  • Prescriptions may be provided where appropriate

When an In-Person Consultation May Be Required

Some conditions require face-to-face assessment. These may include:

  • Suspicious or changing skin lesions
  • Possible skin cancers
  • Conditions requiring procedures (e.g. biopsy, injections, or laser treatment)
  • Severe or rapidly progressing symptoms

Your dermatologist will advise if an in-person review is recommended.

Benefits of Online Dermatology

  • Improved access to care Online consultations can reduce the need for travel and may provide more timely access to specialist advice.
  • Convenience Consult from home without attending a clinic in person.
  • Privacy Discuss skin concerns in a private setting.
  • Continuity of care Suitable for follow-up appointments and ongoing management where appropriate.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a referral?

You don’t need to have a GP referral to book a consultation and use our service.

However, if you want to be eligible for a Medicare rebate, you will need an active GP referral. For subsequent reviews of the same skin problem, you can also book a review appointment if your GP referral is still active.

Is online dermatology suitable for all conditions?

Not all conditions can be managed online. A dermatologist will advise if in-person care is needed.

Can prescriptions be provided?

Prescriptions may be issued where clinically appropriate and in accordance with Australian regulations.

How long does it take to receive a response?

Timeframes may vary depending on clinical requirements and service demand.
